Nursery Prospectus

St. Dominic Catholic Primary School offers Nursery provision in a happy, secure and caring setting. We aim to create a stimulating environment where all children are encouraged and motivated to explore, discover and learn. At the end of their time with us, we hope the children will leave Nursery with a solid foundation on which to build their future learning. We know that as parents/carers you aim to provide the best for your child - as educators, we want to work with you in partnership to do the same.

In September 2021, St Dominic School will offer 15 hours FREE Nursery education, between 08:45 and 11:45 Monday to Friday, term-time only. There are 30 places available. These are open to children whose third birthday falls between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021. ‘Pre-School’ afternoon sessions will also be offered by Friends Together (our trusted breakfast and after school provider) for those who are interested.

In addition to morning and afternoon sessions, we also offer Lunch Club provision which will be run by St. Dominic School. Parents have the option to pay for this additional session, with the children bringing in a packed lunch from home. For children just attending the morning session, this will run from 11.45am until 1.00pm and will cost £7.50 per session. For children staying for the afternoon session, this will run from 11.45am until 12.30pm and will cost £6.00. Both of these sessions should be booked via our online booking system and are payable through Gateway.  We ask for parents to establish a weekly pattern for a half term block.

Due to the continuing constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided not to hold conventional open mornings this year. We are very sorry that we cannot welcome new parents into the school in the usual way, but hope you will enjoy taking a look at our virtual tour which can be found on our Admissions page - please click on the blue button below.

If you would like more information, please contact the office on 01582 760047. A further date for a virtual meeting will be arranged if there is a lot of interest.

30 hours Free Childcare for 3- and 4-Year-Olds

In September 2017, funding for early education for 3- and 4-year-old children changed. The universal offer of free early education of up to 15 hours a week term time increased to 30 hours for eligible working parents of 3- and 4-year-olds in England. The idea behind the 30 hours provision is to support parents who work, as well as encourage parents back into work.

To find out if you are eligible for the 30 hours provision, please read:
